Hi there. My name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation, here today to talk to you about spiritual growth and Jesus’s control while on the cross. We’re told in all four gospels about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but Matthew gives us one of the incredible accounts. I’m talking about Jesus Christ as he’s on the cross, and what happens as he is there under incredible physical and spiritual duress. Second Corinthians chapter 5 tells us that he became sin for us. The gospels tell us about how he was crucified, literally being nailed to wood. As all this is happening to him, we are told about the religious leaders and how they had fought him, and how they are actually still yelling and screaming at him, and actually humiliating him as he’s naked on a cross, dying in front of them.

Yet, Jesus controlled everything perfectly. You have to remember, this is God in the flesh. That means that Jesus wielded the power to think his aggressors out of existence. He didn’t have to move. All he had to do was lose control of his emotions, and they cease to exist. Yet, Jesus maintained all control to become our sin sacrifice for our life. Never forget what love looks like on the cross, control of Christ. My name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation.
