Hi, there my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation, talking today about spiritual growth and saying thank you.

In Luke chapter 17 we have an incredible story. We have Jesus who is travelling and he encounters 10 lepers. Now, according to society back then in Judea if you were a leper you had to stay so many feet away from people and how to announce that you were in the area because leprosy there it was and is no cure. They had no idea how it was contracted. If you had leprosy you were shunned.

He encountered 10 lepers. They were looking for community. They were together. As they had this conversation, Jesus tells them to go present themselves to the high priest, which was step number one of a leper if he actually got better to go back to the high priest to be inspected to be allowed to go back into society. He tells them to go to the high priest. As they travel, they are healed.

There were 10 lepers. One came back to show thank you, to show gratitude, to say thank you, to honor Christ. So many times you and I both get so caught up in what’s going on the blessings of God, the daily life, we forget to stop and say thank you for all that we have been blessed with, all that we have been given and all the things that have been kept from us so that you and I can have the life that we live.

Thank you, Father.
