Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. One of the great biblical characters of all time is a guy by the name of Paul who started out as a guy by the name of Saul who was against the Christians. When he came to Christ and he wanted to actually go a different direction nobody trusted him. There was one guy by the name of Barnabas who vouched for him. Barnabas took him in. Barnabas supported him. Barnabas was the guy who stood by Paul whenever nobody else really knew whether they could or should. God blessed this and used this relationship to form the first pair and partnership that went out on the first missionary journey and started revolutionary things.
They came back to Antioch and everything was great. They refueled, they refreshed, they took time to build back their health. Then they’d get ready to go out again and guess what? Paul and Barnabas get into a fight. Not just any old fight, not just any old argument. Knock down, drag out, screaming, nose to nose, they can’t stand what the other one is saying. They will not compromise or back off and they actually split up and yet in God’s hands that worked to the benefit. You read all about this in Acts chapter 15 verse 39, where even in an argument, in God’s hands can be used to further his kingdom. Never ever, ever underestimate what God can do with your life.
