Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with the Values Conversation, here today to talk to you about not isolating from fear and judgment. I want to continue what we were talking about last week, talking about this particular situation where a gal got herself personally and business-wise in a bad situation, lost everything. And, as we talked about last week, she gave up. She just quit. But, what also happened with her was that she isolated. Her own guilt, and her own shame, which is what we all do; we isolate. And whenever that happens, we’re in trouble. Because we will fall into the temptation of thinking that, “Nobody understands what I’m going through.” And the truth is that everybody understands. We fall into the temptation of thinking that, “No one could have screwed up nearly as much as I did.” And the truth of the matter is that the person that we’re sitting next to, or the person that we walk by, or the person in the restaurant has probably screwed things up 10 times more than we could ever screw ’em up as.
But, what happens with the shame, and the guilt, and the judgment is that we isolate. I want to encourage you today; not only don’t isolate, but in the name of God, go find somebody to help you. Find somebody you trust, find somebody that you know is going to be supportive of you, and talk to them, work with them. If you’ve made the mistake, find out that you’re not alone. Find out that you’re not a leper. If you’re not sure where you’re at, and you’re about to make a mistake; go get that insight, and go get that support that you need to keep out of the problems that we all fall into. Do not allow judgment to isolate and give up on where you’re at.
