Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. Here today to talk to you about fun. I don’t know if it was the same for you as it was for me, but without sounding judgmental about my parents. I grew up in a household where I look back on it and realize that pretty much everything was a chore. I didn’t remember Mom and Dad having too much fun.

We lived on a farm. We were working from sun-up till sundown, and they did 20 hours more a day than what I did as a child and as a teenager. I still remember that whole atmospheric understanding of, it was work, it was chores, whatever. As an adult, I realized that I want to enjoy the journey. I suspect you do too. I want to encourage you today to breathe, relax, enjoy the day, enjoy the journey, even the mistakes, even the perceived failures, even the things that didn’t go right. It’s okay. Have fun. I give you permission for me and you both, have some fun.

When was the last time you told somebody that really was important to you, how much you appreciated them, how much you enjoyed them? When was the last time you just took some time for yourself and enjoyed time with people you love or things you love to do? It’s okay. Have some fun. It don’t always have to be work.
