Hi there. I’m Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation here to talk to you today about leadership and continuing education. I don’t know about you, but a lot of times, I get caught up in being about the business, doing the business, what’s the next thing, putting out the next fire, the crisis, all the things we gotta overcome, making sure we hit this and do this, and payroll’s met, and all this is whatever. We forget that, “Oh yeah, I’m supposed to be not just in the business but being about the business and actually learning myself.”
I don’t know when the last time it was for you, but a lot of times for leaders, it’s a long time since the last time we sat down and just started learning about our profession, or started learning about leadership, or started learning about team building, or started learning about better communication. A lot of times we think we know it, but a lot of times, we’ve forgotten that we didn’t know so much to begin with. Whether it’s emotional intelligence or how to better communicate with team dysfunction, it is important for us as leaders to continue to grow, and educate, and become stronger and more knowledgeable not only in our chosen fields but knowledgeable in how we deal with our people.
On purpose, I encourage you, set the goals, make the time, find ways to learn about how to better lead your people as you educate and grow yourself. My name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. You can find out more about us at Facebook at facebook.com/thevaluesconversation.
