Hi there. My name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. Here today, I talk about part two of the qualities of leaders you want to look for around you or whatever, you are hiring, or whatever, you are trying to expand your company or your team.

Looking at stuff that Max was talking about in his book, Developing the Leaders Around You, he talks about making sure that the people you are going to bring in to your team, or bring into your company, have the characteristics or qualities of resiliency, an attitude of service, to be able to follow through, and to have gratitude. Now, out of those four, I just want to take just a few seconds, and what I find interesting about this list, is I just want to talk about the one characteristic of gratitude, because what I keep hearing more, and more, and more, over and over and over again, whether I am reading it in a book, or hearing it in an interview, or reading it in just an article of some kind, is about how whenever people have this attitude of thankfulness and they have stopped and recognized the bigger picture and are able to give gratitude for what they have, those are the kind of people you want to have around you.

The more I think about that, the more I think, you know what? The people I know that have an attitude of thankfulness, those are the people that have what anybody would classify as a good attitude, or a great attitude. Just a reminder for us today, number one as leaders, to make sure that these people around us have these qualities of the resiliency and follow through, and that kind of thing, but for ourselves, to make sure that we stop and give thanks, and be recognizing of the things that we do have, instead of the things that we don’t.
