Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with the Values Conversation. Here today to talk about leadership and juggling. Now, as a leader, we understand that we have to juggle a lot of different things, but my encouragement for you today is to understand the key priorities that you have to be focused on and how to learn how to juggle them. One of our coaches and a great friend of mine, a guy by the name of Jeff Koziatek, who’s a performer and juggler. He talks about how if you want to juggle correctly, you got to practice. That makes sense.

As a leader, we have to realize that there are some projects that we need to be juggling that only we can do. There are some projects that we need to delegate or there are some projects that we need to delegate and kind of keep an eye on because it’s going to come back to us or there’s something going to happen or we’re training to somebody else. We got to juggle all those different things all the time. One of the things we have to recognize is that we the leader must be juggling all this exactly right. The only way to do that is to jump in and start juggling and learning. That means you’re going to drop the ball. That means the chainsaw is going to fall on your head a couple of times. That means the bowling pin is going to bounce off somebody in the audience and hit you in the forehead. That means you’re going to look stupid, but you’re still going to learn and grow and develop and learn how to juggle better.

What are the things that you need to do? What are the things you need to delegate? What are the things you need to keep your eye on? All those things have to be decided and juggled on an all different aspects opportunities and problems with the job. Are you juggling correctly? If not, start.
