Hi there. My name is Jeff Arthur with the Values Conversation, here today to talk to us about how people are looking for stability. One of my friends, and actually, one of my coworkers with the Values Conversation, a brilliant man by the name of Sterling Price, Sterling talked about how, in one of the most recent surveys he read, the number one thing people are looking for in an employer is stability.
With everything in upheaval, and up in arms, and all kind of whatever, things changing, people are looking for stability. They want to know that their job matters, and that it’s going to be here for them. They want to know, again, as we talked about in weeks previous, they want to know they’re a part of something bigger. They want to know that you’re connected with them. They want to know that there’s some stability for them where they can pour themselves into it. Who wants to give all they’ve got to a job that won’t be there in a few weeks, months, or years?
Stability, not just about whether the job’s going to be there, but stability from you and I, the leader, about whether you’re the same person every day. In other words, if you’re Jekyll one day and Hyde the next day, or Jekyll one week and Hyde the next week, or Jekyll half the day and Hyde half the other day, there’s no stability. They don’t know who you are. They don’t know which one they’re going to get. People really won’t be able to give their best if they’re not seeing some stability from you and the job.
Are you providing the stability that is needed for maximum efficiency? My name is Jeff Arthur with the Values Conversation. You can find out more about us on Facebook at Facebook.com/TheValuesConversation.
