Hi there. I’m Jeff Arthur with the The Values Conversation. A few weeks ago I read an article about how people who are successful are willing to suspend everything that they think they know about a subject and are willing to learn. It goes right in line with the most basic teaching of leadership, which is that great leaders are great students. They want to learn. They continue to learn. They’re continuing to read. They’re going to seminars. They’re going to motivational activities, whatever it is to continue to grow, to learn, to become more, to hear something new, to get a different perspective, to trust other mentors and to trust other peers, to get their input and get involvement with them.

One of the most important things as a leader to understand is that we never arrive. It is so important as a leader to be a great student and to suspend what we think we know about something and allow somebody else that does know something about the subject matter, allow them to teach us, to allow them to direct us, because as the more we grow, the more our team, the more our organization, the more our people around us will grow as well.
