Hi there. I’m Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation, talking to you today about as an effective leader one of the things we need to understand is what is leadership. There are great definitions from Maxwell, great definitions from Ziglar, and I will talk about that on another recording, but the most basic premise to understand about a leader is that we as leaders are helping other people become more. We are helping them develop helping them develop, grow, helping them understand, or work through a project, or whatever that is. If we as a leader are not helping other people become more we are really not a effective leaders at all. One of the greatest statements I ever heard is that as a leader, if you think you’re leading people, and you turn around, and other people are not following you you are not leaving anyone you are just going for a walk.

That’s not, as a leader, where you want to be. I want to encourage you today to recognize that no matter what you’re doing with your business, no matter what you’re doing with getting stuff out the door for your customers, no matter what you’re doing to accomplish whatever else is your responsibilities, step number one as a leader is to help the people around you become more, become better, and become something that they never thought possible following your example and your lead.

Again, my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. You can out more about us online at tvcleadership.com.
