Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. Here today to talk to us on a personal level about checking our attitudes. John Maxwell in his book The Difference Maker talks about how he struggles with people and the way they drive and personally I do to because most people are idiots whenever they’re driving including probably you but that’s a whole nother story and I’ll take medication after I get off this video but what his point was about is that he knows that that’s a problem for him, so he on purpose checks his attitude and walks himself through watching out for a bad attitude or a negative attitude that can develop over the time he is in the car trying to get to work.
I don’t mean to tell you something that you don’t already know today, but I want to remind us all that there are triggers for all of us that just make us angry or irritate us or annoy us or put us in a bad mood or throw us over the edge because we were in some kind of foul mood before. Whatever that is, it’s important to us to check our attitude. It’s one of the things we talked about several videos ago. There are two things I can always control, my attitude and my effort, and I need to control my attitude by constantly checking myself especially in the areas of my life where I know I’m going to get triggered.
