Hi there, I’m Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation. I was reading something the devotion the other day from Max Lucado and he said something that I thought was stunning. He said, “Aging is God’s idea.”

I thought about it and I thought, “Yeah, I don’t like that idea so much.” I’m now halfway point in life. I got all kinds of aches and pains. I’m doing this recording after only sleeping a couple hours last night because I have a bad hip and it caused cramping in my legs to the point that I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t sleep for hours because I’m getting old.

Because I had an accident skydiving years ago and it’s come back to haunt me. You and I both know elderly people who can’t walk like they used to, can’t see like they used to, can’t hear like they used to, can’t chew food like they used to, and this is God’s idea?

What kind of idea is that? Well, it actually is a great idea because it’s not about the physical anymore, it’s about the spiritual because as we age, we look more toward heaven.

In Philippians, chapter 3, verse 21 he says, “By the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, he will transform our lowly bodies so that we will be like his glorious body.” Amen God. Bring it on. Can’t wait.
