Hi, there. My name is Jeff Arthur with the Values Conversation, here to talk to you about accountability and about recognizing my responsibility to be and do more. I don’t know about you, but I suspect you’ve heard that a lot of people get offended today. People get offended by a lot of things. People get offended by people who get offended. People get offended by not being offended. People get offended because you’re not offended by the right things. People get offended, and you can go on down the list.

What I want to encourage us today is that, whenever I sit up and say, “I’m offended,” it’s another way of saying, “I just want to be a victim,” and that gets us nowhere. I want to encourage us today to recognize our own personal accountability. I can spend a lot of time screaming at the air and talking about how I’m offended at something, or I can take personal accountability in my own life, and recognize that I can work to be better, that I can work in my own life to be what others may not be wanting to do.

I can work in my own life to continue to grow and develop, and wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, I can actually not just be accountable in my own life, but I can be accountable to change the way people are acting. I can be accountable to help, and support, and make a difference where I’m at, so that people see more in me, and then they’re going to want to change who they are and what they’re doing, as well. I can spend a lot of time and energy being offended, or I can be accountable and make a difference. What do you value? My name is Jeff Arthur, the Values Conversation.
