Hi there, I’m Jeff Arthur with the values conversation. One of the speakers that I love the most, that I read his books, I listen to his CDs, I listen to the stuff he’s put out is Zig Ziglar. Phenomenal speaker, but I heard Zig using, oh say, something that I thought was so profound that I’ve always remembered at least 20 years later. He was talking about positive instructioning. He was talking about positive motivation, and the need for us to on purpose put ourselves in a position to be motivated on a daily basis, to get that positive energy, to get that positive feedback.

I remember 20, 25 years ago I’m thinking, oh my gosh, this guy’s nuts, but he said something that was so profound. He said, “Let me ask you something. Did you take a shower yesterday? Did you take a shower the day before? I hope so, but why do that. If you took a shower yesterday, or the day before why would we take a shower today? We showered then, we should be fine, and the answer is of course we’re not. We went out into the world, we got dirty. We perspired, we put ourselves in dirty situations where we get mud or something on us where we’ve got to clean ourselves, and the answer is, yes.”

Not only do we have to do that on a physical level, but we have to do that on an emotional level. To clean ourselves and repopulate that positive energy and positive reinforcement in our lives, daily, every day. My name is Jeff Arthur with the values conversation.
