Hi there. I’m Jeff Arthur with the values conversation. I have worked with people in personal coaching for years. What I have found over, and over, and over, and over and over again is the need people have to be perfect, to do it perfectly, to avoid the judgment at all costs. We think that the way to do that is to do everything exactly right the first time. The problem is is that we never do that. I want to encourage you today to understand that it’s not about perfection, it’s about a journey. It’s never going to be perfect. It’s never going to be exactly right. It’s never going to be without flaw. The more we strive for that, the more we live in disappointment and the more we struggle to be content with what we do have around us. It’s about a journey.

Are you going to be the perfect spouse? No. Are you going to be the perfect parent? No. Are you going to be the perfect employee or employer? Absolutely not. Are you going to be the perfect you fill in the blank. The answer is no, you never will. We never will, but we can accept that we’re on a journey, and we can accept that we’re growing, developing and becoming more step by step by step. My name is Jeff Arthur with the values conversation.
