Hi there my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation, here to do a reminder for us today about what to focus on whenever we’re doing stuff at home, work, play, business, whatever that is. Truth of the matter is very simple: You and I both have strengths and we both have weaknesses. There’s all kinds of different ideas and mindsets out there about what am I supposed to focus on, and it makes sense to say, “You know what? I got weaknesses I need to work on, on strengthening my weaknesses. If I’m struggling with something, I need to get better at it.” And that makes a lot of sense, especially if I’m a business owner and I realize there’s so many things that are weaknesses and I need to get better at it. Totally get that.

But the truth of the matter is that I need to focus on my strengths. Truth of the matter for me, personally, there’s only about 16 bazillion things that I’m terrible at, horrible, horrific at. But there’s one or two things I ain’t too bad. If I focus on the one or two things, that helps me develop and grow and become more. And I learn, and I connect, and I’m able to figure out who to trust with those other things that I’m not so good at. What do I focus on? My weaknesses? Maybe. But one of the best things I can do for my own personal growth and the growth of my company is to focus and work on and build my strengths.
