Hi there, my name is Jeff Arthur with The Values Conversation, here to talk about making sure your people are being heard. This is something that we all understand, and if you’re like me you’ve read articles about it, you’ve heard interviews, you’ve listened to people firsthand tell you about how it’s so important it is for them to be heard, and yet it is something that we constantly as leaders forget. That people want to be heard because they view that, especially in the business world, as respect. You respect me enough to hear my view, you respect me enough to hear my thoughts on this. Don’t have to go with it, but if you hear me then at least I know that I have value to you.

As a leader, you want to make sure that your people are being heard, but that means as the leader that you’re open and that you’re available to your people. If not, there’s going to be a huge disconnect, there’s going to be communication struggles, there’s going to be all kinds of team breakdowns, because they don’t feel like they’re being heard, they don’t feel like they’re being respected, they don’t feel like they’re really valued as part of the team. Make sure your people are being heard. My name is Jeff Arthur, with The Values Conversation. You can find out more about us online at tvcleadership.com.
